在2005年的英国乐坛里，出现了一位充满传奇性的音乐人，和一张专辑及一首单曲。这位今年在英国乐坛，让大家惊艳不已的歌手就是上尉诗人James Blunt，和他的英国冠军专辑《Back to Bedlam》及冠军单曲You are Beautiful。截至目前为止James Blunt的专辑已经蝉连英国金榜专辑榜冠军5周，同时也在单曲上蝉连4周冠军，因此更创下专辑及单曲双榜连续冠军4周的纪录。在如此辉煌的音乐成绩之下，这个低调的歌手，却有着如小说里人物般的传奇色彩。James Blunt，出生在军人家庭，从英国布里斯托大学毕业后，在推出这张经典专辑之前，他加入军队并一路升到上尉，担任过英国女王亲卫队，也曾被派驻到德国科索沃目睹血腥内战，并成为第一个派遣到普利斯提纳的英国军官，领导三万人的和平部队。在白天，James Blunt是带领3万人和平部队的军官，但每到夜里，他总是会爬上他的坦克车，在宁静的夜空下，拿着吉他写下这张专辑里的歌曲。 

出生于英国英格兰的James Blunt，家族堪称军事世家，自小便受传统家教所束缚。伴随他成长的音乐仅仅是“祝你生日快乐”和圣诞节时不可避免的“平安夜”，固执的父亲甚至把古典音乐都归为一无是处的噪音。7岁时住校学习，其间他在数学和自然科学两门科目上表现优秀，无怪乎之后他的父亲将其推上从军的道路。James Blunt不是个习惯向家庭抒发不满的人，或许是出自对于家庭压力的不满，让他选择了吉他，在音乐中表达自己的情绪，在学校里James Blunt学会了钢琴演奏，并参与学校活动时的表演。但由于父亲的催促，James Blunt还是加入了军队，且于1999年在科索沃为当时的停火执行官。“那时我们谈论的都是给和平一个机会呢，我们是和平主义者，可战争中你只能无助的耸耸肩而已”。或许是经历的一切让James Blunt深深体会到痛及遍身的战争带给人们的伤害，他毅然用亲身经历战争的感受谱写音乐，通过音乐他向人们诉说和证明战争的不幸。或许正是当一个人面对生死有了切身的感受后，才会体会到人活着是为了什么，对James Blunt来说，活着就是为了让生活更美好。这个曾经是战场上的男人如今谱写着音乐，来让自己、让别人的生活产生快乐，远离悲伤与痛苦。 

脱离军队后，James Blunt组建了一个乐队录制样带。在2003年SXSW表演之后，Pink、Christina Aguilara等艺人的制作人Linda Perry相中James Blunt的才华，将他和他的乐队收入Custard Records唱片公司旗下。至此，James Blunt开始了他音乐人生的又一旅程。2005年1月，James Blunt在英国首发专辑《Back to Bedlam》，再于7月在美国发行此专辑，以及单曲专辑《You’re Beautiful》。 《Back to Bedlam》，请到Tom Rothrock（Beck, Elliott Smith, Badly Drawn Boy）来×刀，灵性真诚的嗓音下唱出浪漫满溢的情爱感伤及他在军中的生活点滴，专辑得到英国专辑榜第四并且得到Q杂志四颗星高度评价，相信喜欢Damien Rice及David Gray的乐迷也会对James Blunt的作品颇有好感。

These two guys are brilliant, as I would say. I wouldn't say that I am a big fan for Radiohead - almost about 7 years ago, when I first listen to Radiohead music, I couldn't accept it, guess my understanding & appreciating level was not high enough then.

Almost two years ago, when I started listening to Zero 7 and getting crazy about them, I accidentally found this remix version of Climbing up the walls. And I would say that it was then I started to listen to Radiohead. No wonder. Even Radiohead was so impressed by this version Zero 7 did, that they chose to have it as a b-side on their hitsingle "Karma Police". 

Thanks Just, I've been looking for this download link for a long long time since that stupid computer made that stupid mistakes which enable me to lose all of my mp3 downloads.
